Japan Knowledge Competitions
About Japan Knowledge Competitions
JSS organizes competitions for “Knowledge about Japan in Japanese.” Competitions are open to students studying Japanese at universities in China.
There are approximately 500 universities in China that have Japanese language departments. The Japan Knowledge Competition is a big event with participation by students from more than 100 of these schools, and has a significant impact on the Japanese language education community in China.
Through the competition, we aim to deepen students' understanding of Japan, increase their motivation to learn Japanese, and promote exchanges among Japanese language learners.
Start of “Japan Knowledge Competitions”
The first Japan Knowledge Competition was held in September 2004 at Heilongjiang University in Harbin. No other quiz competition in China has focused on a specific country; i.e., Japan.
As a groundbreaking and effective event in terms of promoting understanding of Japan, it has gained popularity among university students, and this competition, which started in Harbin, has now grown into a nationwide event.
Through the competition, we aim to deepen students' understanding of Japan, increase their motivation to learn Japanese, and promote exchanges among Japanese language learners.
